In July 2024, the Ministry of Education launched the Menstrual Equity Initiative to provide free menstrual products in schools across the province. This initiative is part of Ontario’s broader commitment to fostering inclusive, healthy, and supportive learning environments. It’s all about making sure every student can focus on learning without worrying about access to essentials.

Students have access to free menstrual products in a safe and discreet way. Products are available by:

• Visiting the main office
• Connecting with a trusted adult
• Asking a member of your student council

This program helps remove barriers, reduce stigma, and promote equity, dignity, and inclusion for all students. It ensures everyone can feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.

We also encourage families to speak openly with their children about this initiative to help normalize conversations around menstrual health. Together, we can break down stigma and make sure every student has the support they need.
